“PETITION WAR ERUPTS IN INSURANCE SECTOR!” — SIC BOSS FIRES BACK AT CRITICS
The Ghana Voice 01-04-2026Tensions are boiling over in Ghana’s insurance industry as the Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC, James Agyenim-Boateng, launches a fierce rebuttal against what he describes as “baseless and targeted attacks” disguised as petitions.
In a strongly worded response, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng claims two separate petitions circulating within the industry are not just aimed at SIC, but are personally targeting him with what he calls “false and ridiculous accusations.”
“INFANTILE AND LUDICROUS” PETITION
The first petition, according to the SIC boss, was authored by A. Achampong-Kyei, Managing Director of Glico General Insurance, on December 22, 2025.
Mr. Agyenim-Boateng did not hold back, describing the move as “infantile and ludicrous,” while questioning what he termed as “hypocrisy,” pointing to what he alleges was Glico’s dominance in the industry in previous years.
SECOND FRONT: MEDIA CAMPAIGN?
The second petition, he claims, is being championed by policy analyst Franklin Cudjoe of IMANI Ghana, largely through mainstream and social media platforms.
Both petitions, according to the SIC MD, attempt to downplay the company’s recent success, attributing its gains to external influences rather than internal reforms and performance.
“WE ARE UNFAZED!”
But the SIC boss says his team is not backing down.
“Our focus is firmly on building credibility, strengthening trust and working tirelessly to protect Ghanaians every single day,” Mr. Agyenim-Boateng declared.
He insists SIC’s rise is no accident, highlighting improvements in customer service, faster claims payments, increased market visibility, and a highly skilled workforce as the real drivers behind the company’s growth.
“WE’VE EARNED OUR PLACE!”
In a bold declaration, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng stressed that SIC’s achievements are rooted in “integrity, performance and trust,” adding that the company’s impact is already being felt across the industry—even if critics refuse to admit it.
“PETITIONS WON’T STOP US!”
Despite the controversy, the SIC boss says the attacks have only made his team stronger.
“Will we do less because of false accusations? Absolutely not,” he fired.
“These baseless claims have only strengthened our resolve to work harder.”
SIC RISING!
Ending on a defiant note, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng declared that SIC’s mission goes beyond industry politics.
“We are not defined by the noise of detractors but by the lives we safeguard, the trust we earn and the future we are building. SIC is rising higher, stronger and prouder.”
Industry watchers say the unfolding petition saga could spark deeper scrutiny and shake-ups within Ghana’s insurance space — but for now, one thing is clear: the battle lines are drawn.
