NDC Challenges NPP: "Show Video Evidence of Fertilizer Diversion!"

The opposition and governing political rivalry in Jaman South has intensified following the circulation of audio recordings alleging that fertilizers meant for cocoa farmers in the constituency are being diverted to neighbouring Côte d'Ivoire.

Reacting to the claims, the Jaman South Constituency Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly denied any involvement with the recordings, describing them as fabricated propaganda allegedly orchestrated by elements within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to tarnish the image of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and the constituency leadership of the NDC.

The Jaman South NDC in an issued Press Release,said the recordings should be disregarded, insisting they did not originate from the party.

The party further challenged the Jaman South NPP Communications Director to produce credible and verifiable evidence to support allegations that fertilizers intended for farmers in the constituency are being smuggled across the border into Côte d'Ivoire.

According to the Jaman South NDC, allegations of such magnitude cannot be sustained by audio recordings alone, especially when their authenticity and context remain disputed.

The party argued that if the claims were genuine, there should be independent evidence such as video footage, photographs, transport records or other corroborating material.

Seeking to calm public anxiety, the Party's Communication Directorate assured cocoa farmers across Jaman South that every eligible farmer would benefit from the government's free fertilizer distribution programme regardless of political affiliation.

The party also praised President John Dramani Mahama for honouring his campaign promise to cocoa farmers through the implementation of the free fertilizer initiative

The NDC Communication Directorate described the initiative as a major intervention aimed at boosting cocoa production and improving farmers' livelihoods.

The statement was jointly signed by the Jaman South NDC Communication Officer, Naaba Adongo, and Deputy Communication Officer, Gyan Emmanuel.
