ROAD CREDIT WAR ERUPTS IN JAMAN SOUTH: NPP ACCUSED OF ‘PROJECT HIJACK’ AS NDC FIRES BACK!”
The Ghana Voice 29-04-2026Political sparks are flying in Jaman South as a heated blame game over major road projects explodes into the public space.
The opposition NPP in the area has been accused of peddling “misleading claims” in a desperate bid to take credit for ongoing infrastructure works.
In a strongly worded statement, the NDC’s Deputy Communication Officer, Gyan Kwadwo Emmanuel, took direct aim at the NPP, alleging that the party is falsely linking Col. Damoah to key road developments , claims he describes as “baseless and deceptive.”
At the center of the controversy are two major road projects: the Drobo Court Junction–KBK Road and the Berekum–Sampa Road.
According to the NDC, the Drobo–KBK stretch was initiated during the tenure of former MP Hon. Okofo Dateh, making any attempt to credit Col. Damoah “a clear distortion of history.”
The statement didn’t hold back, daring Col. Damoah to focus on lobbying for development in his own backyard — specifically the deteriorating Japekrom–Kwameseikrom road — instead of “chasing borrowed glory.”
Even more explosive is the claim surrounding the Berekum–Sampa Road.
The NDC insists the project is a direct fulfillment of a campaign promise by President John Dramani Mahama to traditional leaders in the area, dismissing any alternative narrative as “illogical and unfounded.”
Amid the political firestorm, the NDC also highlighted fresh development efforts under the leadership of Jaman South MCE, Hon. Siata Watara.
A new KG block and a three-apartment bungalow project at Kofitiakrom , set to house six teachers has been touted as proof of government’s commitment to grassroots development.
The message from the NDC is loud and clear: “Don’t be deceived.”
