NRSA Cracks Down on Outdoor Advertising Signs in Ayawaso West Municipality
The Ghana Voice 19-06-2025The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has launched an enforcement exercise in collaboration with the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly to remove outdoor advertising signs in road medians within the municipality. The signs, deemed an obstruction to motorists and pedestrians, cause visual and cognitive distractions to drivers, posing a significant road safety risk.
This initiative is part of the NRSA's broader strategy to enhance road safety in urban environments. To ensure public safety, outdoor advertising signs and billboards must comply with specified regulations.
The NRSA emphasizes the importance of adhering to these standards to prevent accidents and promote a safer road environment. The authority urges the public to cooperate with municipal assemblies and adhere to the guidelines set forth for outdoor advertising.
The NRSA serves notice that this exercise will not be limited to Ayawaso West Municipality, as similar enforcement actions will be carried out in other municipalities across the country. The Authority is committed to ensuring that road safety standards are upheld nationwide.
This enforcement action demonstrates the NRSA's commitment to creating safer roads and reducing the risk of accidents in Ghana's urban areas.
