MIDDLE EAST FIRESTORM: BAWUMIA & WIFE RUSHED OUT OF QATAR IN SECRET SECURITY OPERATION

Ghana’s former Vice-President and 2028 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, and his wife, Samira Bawumia, have been swiftly and discreetly relocated from Qatar as tensions explode across the Middle East.

Top diplomatic sources confirm the high-level evacuation was executed under direct orders from Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, following escalating hostilities in the region.

Embassies swung into action immediately — coordinating behind the scenes with host authorities to ensure the couple and their entourage were moved to safety without delay. While operational details remain tightly under wraps, officials describe the mission as “smooth, fast and secure.”

The dramatic relocation comes amid one of the most dangerous Middle East escalations in recent years. The crisis — now widely linked to the 2026 Strait of Hormuz showdown — erupted after coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iranian military targets in late February.

Iran’s swift retaliation has triggered missile and drone exchanges across multiple countries, grounding flights, shutting airspace, and disrupting global shipping routes. The Strait of Hormuz — through which nearly 20% of the world’s crude oil passes — has become a flashpoint, sending shockwaves through global markets.

The United Nations has sounded the alarm over worsening civilian suffering as humanitarian access becomes increasingly strained.

Back home, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry says it is working “around the clock” to protect all Ghanaians living in or travelling through affected areas. Emergency response measures have been activated, with embassies placed on standby to deliver consular support and urgent assistance.

In recent days, Ghana has already begun evacuating diplomatic personnel from Tehran and other high-risk zones as the crisis deepens.

For now, Dr. Bawumia and his wife are confirmed safe ,but the Middle East powder keg shows no sign of cooling.
