Mahama Visits Survivors of Burkina Faso Terror Attack at 37 Military Hospital
The Ghana Voice 18-02-2026President John Dramani Mahama has visited two survivors of the recent terrorist attack in Burkina Faso who are currently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.
The survivors were part of a group of Ghanaian tomato traders travelling on a truck that was ambushed by armed bandits in northern Burkina Faso on Saturday. The attack claimed the lives of seven other Ghanaian traders, who have since been buried.
During the visit, President Mahama, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, commiserated with the injured traders and assured them that the government would fully cover their medical expenses.
The President travelled to the hospital shortly after returning from Takoradi, where he had earlier attended and officially opened a Local Content Summit organised by the Minerals Commission.
The injured traders were airlifted and successfully transported back to Ghana by the Ghana Armed Forces for medical treatment and care.
Government officials say efforts are ongoing to provide support to the affected families while strengthening cross-border security cooperation to protect Ghanaian traders operating within the West African sub-region.
