Fosu Family Warns Against Defamatory Claims Following Daddy Lumba’s Death

The Ghana Voice 02-08-2025

The family of the late Ghanaian highlife legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a stern warning against individuals and media outlets making unverified or defamatory claims about the musician in the wake of his passing.

In a statement released on Friday, August 1, 2025, and signed by the family’s legal representative, Fati Ali Yallah, Esq. of Baba Jamal & Associates, the Fosu family acknowledged the circulation of various videos, public statements, and social media posts alleging claims against the late icon.

The family urged anyone with genuine and verifiable claims to present them to their lawyers for amicable resolution. “In the spirit of transparency and dignity, all such persons are respectfully invited to submit such claims to the lawyers of the Fosu family,” the statement read.

The family further cautioned that individuals or media platforms spreading false, misleading, or defamatory content about Daddy Lumba would be held legally accountable.

“We urge the general public to act with respect and decorum as we mourn and prepare to bid a befitting farewell to this colossus of a musician,” the statement concluded.

Daddy Lumba, whose music career spanned decades and influenced generations, passed away on July 26, 2025, after a short illness. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in the coming days.
